A passion for art is like breathing underwater. Gaining a sense of boundless freedom when really experiencing art is what lead me down this path. As an artist in todays world I am surrounded by so much amazing work to explore, that both inspires me and challenges myself to create my own. When I think of where art will take us I appreciate the practice in a much deeper meaning. Art to me, is something to be shared, discussed and celebrated. I create art to ignite conversation. I’ve always been intrigued in the art and design industry, which lead me to completing a degree in advertising design at OCAD University. It really opened my knowledge and views towards the business and consumerism side of design. Having learned so much I knew I wanted to shine light on the positive and empowering side to art. From here I began to research more about activism and learning how to portray art in a way that changes people’s perspective. Art should be accessible to everyone, therefore creating painting in public spaces makes the conversation universal and go much further. On top of being interesting and visually pleasing, I believe art can push us to understand and look at society in ways we have never thought of before. To express the importance of being heard through a visual journey is something I stride towards.
